Task Till Dawn is a free Task Scheduler which can execute your repetitive tasks (i.e. open files or applications) at specified times or intervals. Tasks can also be executed manually. I wrote this application because I needed a solution to comfortable let iTunes download the newest podcasts at a specified time every day. iTunes yet does not provide such a functionality; now Task Till Dawn does it by executing an AppleScript, which then tells iTunes to refresh the podcasts.
Since Task Till Dawn 1.3, different notification services can be used. For example, to notify the user whenever a task will be executed shortly. On the Mac, it is possible to use Growl for notifications. On Windows, notifications can be displayed using the tray-icon.
Task Till Dawn 1.4 has just been released. And as brevity is the soul of wit, here is just a listing of whats new:
• It is now possible to specify weekdays on which a task should be executed.
• Added possibility to specify a day of a month on which a task should be executed.
• Tasklist can now be displayed inside the menulet / tray-menu.
• Update check now build in.
• Further UI-enhancements for Mac OS X.
• On Windows, tasks are now stored inside the AppData-directory.
• Build-in feedback formular.
